A Renaissance Revel
The sensuous Renaissance dances allow audiences to visit the exuberant stages of Shakespeare's England and the lavish Italian courts of the Medicis. From Elizabeth I's favorite, the volta, which has the men tossing their partners in the air by their corsets, to the canari, a feisty competition of stamping movements, the audience is drawn into the age-old rituals of courtship and conflict between the sexes.
