Arts Administration Internship (unpaid)
Reports to: Assistant Director

Hours: 10-20 hrs/week - minimum 3 month commitment

Benefits: Opportunity to learn and understand more about Arts Administration in a non-profit agency.

Job summary: The Intern supports the Executive Director and Assistant Director by answering the phone, preparing correspondence, providing administrative and clerical support, performing filing, and acting as a liaison between the company and the public.

Responsibilities: The Intern's duties include:
  • Providing information about the company to visitors and callers
  • Performing administrative duties (typing, filing, scheduling, updating database)
  • Preparing and mailing marketing material
  • Contacting and coordinating with Community Outreach presenters and Event Planners
  • Researching new Development and Fundraising opportunities
Knowledge/Skills: The following skills are necessary to perform the Internship duties:
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • FileMaker experience preferred
  • Excellent grammar, editing and proofreading skills
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to review files with great attention to detail
  • Ability to work well independently
Education/Experience: In order to perform in the Internship, a candidate must have:
  • Prior experience performing administrative and clerical tasks
  • Interest in Arts Administration
